FUT 22: David de Gea is Premier League POTM in January

David de Gea is the first Premier League POTM in 2022 for FOOTBALL 22 Ultimate Team (FUT), the Spaniard's special card can be unlocked via SBC.

Small surprise in FUT 22: Kevin De Bruyne from Manchester City is not the new Premier League POTM, David de Gea from city rivals Manchester United outperformed him and the other candidates in the voting. The goalkeeper was able to build on his old strength in January, he was instrumental in the seven points of the "Red Devils" with a number of saves. Despite everything, de Gea had to get behind him 30 times in 22 games in the 2021/22 Premier League season, the United defense is not among the top of the league. However, the 31-year-old has undoubtedly sent his goalkeeper rival Dean Henderson to the bench.

The POTM item gives de Gea an overall rating of 87, with all base stats boosted compared to his regular Gold variant (84). Reflexes (90) and diving (89) are the highlights of the Spaniard's special card, but positional play (85) and ball handling (84) are also impressive. To unlock De Gea as a Premier League POTM in FUT 22, a Squad Building Challenge (SBC) with two required teams must be completed by March 4th.

Tactics Copy: At least one Manchester United player, Overall Team Rating of at least 82, and Team Chemistry of at least 75.

Spain: At least one player of Spanish nationality, at least one TOTW player, overall team rating of at least 83, and team chemistry of at least 70.
